Well, things with Black Swan are going swimmingly if I do say so myself.
The first thing I noticed when diving into this, the sequel to White Rabbit, is how much easier it was in some respects. For instance, White Rabbit took me literal years to write. Black Swan? Less than four weeks (after about a six-week pre-writing process that I’ll tell you all about in another post).
Right now, the first draft is done, and I’m in the first round of edits (still hard but also decidedly less painful than last time) with my awesome editor. I’m about two-thirds of the way through the second draft as I type this.
Once this next draft is done, I’ll be giving an exclusive sneak peek to a small group of beta readers. If you’d like to be a beta reader for Black Swan, drop me a line here and put BLACK SWAN BETA READER (yes, in all caps…don’t worry, I know you’re not yelling at me) in the subject line.
I’m also getting the cover together and will be doing a poll soon so stay tuned if you want to give your input on the final cover design.
Also, I’ll begin posting select few excerpts here, so check back, especially on Fridays.
