I’m a big kid and an even bigger geek. My last three posts have been about toys for goodness sake!

Some time ago I got one of those treasure trolls from the 90’s on Ebay.

Her name is Ruby.

She reminds me to stay creative and not to lose touch with my inner artist.

Name My Muppet!

So in my previous post, I introduced you to the Muppet I got for my birthday.

What a cutie pie!

The only problem is…I have no idea what to call him.

Some names that were suggested are Prometheus (wha?), Dexter, Gus, Hiram Lipschitz, Eduardo Moodie III and other equally ridiculous options. Needless to say, I’m not married to any of these names.

But I gotta name my green guy something!

Any suggestions?

Holiday cookies to whomever’s suggestion I choose (and seriously, my cookies are the shit!).

Happy Birthday to Me!

So every seven years, my birthday falls on Thanksgiving Day and this was one of years.
I won’t say how old I just turned, but I will say this was the best birthday of my entire 20’s.

It started off with a huge meal at my mother’s house. We tried not to have a lot of food this year but we ended up with tons. This is to be expected when six Caribbean women collaborate to make Thanksgiving dinner! We all ate a whole lot and got drunk on my grandmother’s infamous pina colada.

The next day, my Pooh Bear took me to brunch at Tom’s, where we continued in the way of big meals. Oooh the crab cakes there are just divine!

After Tom’s we tried to see the Tim Burton exhibit at MoMA but got there too late.

But…

FAO Schwartz was just around the corner so we went there instead. I love to indulge my inner child. It wasn’t hard to pick out the toy I was to end up bringing home with me for my birthday.

Way in the back of FAO, on the first floor, there is a Muppet Whatnot Workshop where you can, get this, build your own Muppet!

I could not resist! I loovee the Muppets!

After careful consideration and much mixing and matching, I finalized what I wanted my Muppet to look like (there are many, many possible combinations). Then they built it right in front of me. Seriously, it made my day.

So I guess you want to see what he looks like huh?

Well, here he is….

The Highline

I finally got a chance to go to the Highline before fall hit. It’s gorgeous!

The views were just awesome…

The flora was surprisingly lush for a park that was built on an old train track…

And the views just got better as it got darker…

Seriously, it’s about damn time someone came up with a good Wordpress app for the BlackBerry.

Why should the iPhone have all the fun? BlackBerry was here first after all.

Anyone who knows me know how addicted I am to my Berry. But the one thing that annoyed me about it was that I couldn’t really blog from it. At least not on a self hosted Wordpress blog.

Until now.

I realize I’m a tad late with this but that’s only because I had trouble getting the app to work in the first place.

But now that it does (at least I think it does) I think I will be bloggng much more often.

And add Crack-Berry addict to my categories.

Better With Bacon….

Kevin and I trekked it all the way from Brooklyn to midtown Manhattan one Saturday night to get a choinkwich from the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck.

What is a choinkwich you ask?

Picture two thin, sweet, crisp chocolate cookies between which fluffy folds of chocolate soft serve reside. Somewhere along the way, chunks of caramelized (as in cooked in sugar and maple syrup) bacon get incorporated into the mix.

It’s the best kind of party for your mouth.

Seriously, these guys rock!

Pin Up Musings

The shoot for the NYC Sex Blogger Calendar was yesterday.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get all this glitter off.

Seriously, it was sooo much fun. Technically it was a little challenging, the bright hot lights, holing poses, having people poking and prodding you constantly. It’s hard to get used to if you’re not a professional model.

But the set managed to stay relaxed and keep a good vibe. There was such amazing synergy in the room and I for one was tickled pink to be surrounded my so many sexy, creative and intelligent women.
